2008-December Analysis Workshop
ENCODE Analysis Workshop
December 8-9, 2008
An Analysis Workshop (similar to the ENCODE pilot project jamboree that was held in July 2005) will take place on December 8-9, 2008 at the NIH Intramural Sequencing Center (NISC) in Rockville, MD. Participants should plan to arrive on the evening of December 7.
During the workshop, participants will work with ENCODE and related data, and will share their findings. Task-based analysis subgroups will be formed as needed. Most subgroups will disband once the assigned task is completed.
The workshop is open to all ENCODE members who would like to be involved in the analysis. While the workshop will largely focus on technical issues and the mechanics of analysis, some aspects of the workshop will deal with strategic issues such as interpreting data and identifying missing datasets. PIs should attend if possible.
Where to put files used for analysis? - see Files_for_ENCODE_Analysis.

Planning Status Update 10-17-08
NHGRI is working with a logistics contractor to reserve hotel rooms for the Analysis Workshop and to set up a registration website. This information will be distributed once it is available.
Planning Status Update 10-24-08
NHGRI has requested that ENCODE PIs notify Laura Dillon of the number of group members who plan to attend the workshop.
Planning Status Update 11-7-08
Laura Dillon sent the registration link to the ENCODE PIs. PIs should distribute the link to their group member who plan to attend. Attendees must register for the meeting online and call the hotel to make room reservations (registering online does not book a room). All attendees (except for External Consultants Panel members) are required to pay a $40 registration fee to cover the cost of lunches and dinner.
Planning Status Update 12-2-08
A location has been selected for the informal dinner on Sunday, December 7. Workshop participants who would like to do so should meet for dinner at Mosaic Cuisine and Cafe at around 7:00 PM EST. Mosaic is located a short walk from the Hilton at 186 Halpine Road, Rockville, MD 20852.
Planning Status Update 12-4-08
An e-mail with logistics details for the workshop was sent by Lisa Kaplan to all registered participants.
